I am a proud Welshman who undertook my undergraduate degree in War Studies at the University of Kent. My Masters studies, also at Kent, inspired my research into recruitment and propaganda in Ireland during the First World War. I am involved in the Universities school outreach programme and am responsible for liaising with and teaching in 40 local schools. When not doing history stuff I like shouting at sport, particularly football, and fine ales.
