I am a scholar of Modern International history (in the broadest sense!) and have a particular interest in researching how people fight back against political regimes. This has taken me all the way from the Jacobins of the French revolution through to the dissidents in the Soviet Union, on whom I’ve written a book. Beyond history, I’m obsessed with cycling and lose many hours in July each year following Le Tour de France.
