Danielle Marsh
BA, PGCE, Dip Ed
After completing my undergraduate history degree at Downing college, Cambridge I spent a year running a paternity testing company (pre Jeremy Kyle!) before deciding my talents were better suited to the classroom. I did my PGCE and then a Diploma in Education at Durham university while working at a large comprehensive in County Durham called Park View Community school. When we became sick of an Oxford- Newcastle weekly commute myself and my soon to be husband moved north to Stirling where he took up a history lectureship and I began working at Perth Academy as a history and Guidance teacher. From 2004-2014 with breaks to produce four children, we remained in Scotland. I stopped teaching to care for the kids and then we moved south to Canterbury for a job at the University of Kent. As my youngest approaches school age I've begun to consider my own future and writing for audiopi is a great way to keep my love for history and education alive without the time commitments of the classroom!
