A lot of Christians, as well as follows of other religions, go on Pilgrimage. So what is the purpose of pilgrimage? And where do pilgrims go? We look at the importance of Lourdes, Jerusalem, Walsingham and Rome as sites of pilgrimage; We also consider the impact of pilgrimage on Christians with reference to Luke 2:41-43 and the different interpretations of the importance of pilgrimage for Christians of different denominations
