In these chapters we discuss a number of key events around the creation of a companion for the monster. We analyse the parallels with genesis and creation. How does this impact Victor - he delays his marriage by 2 years to complete the companion. We look back to initial creation of the creature – premonition regarding Elizabeth and kiss of death. Consider what the marriage means to VF. How the choice of Remote Orkney to create the companion feeds into the themes of isolation + the sublime. Continual movement north and significance of the north as a frontier of exploration. And finally we discuss Frankenstein’s doubts regarding the creation of ‘eve’ figure and how the destruction of the companion drives the Monster into a rage. He swears revenge on Frankenstein’s wedding night.
