This podcast examines the expectations and generic features of gothic heroes and heroines and answers the question to what are the ingredients of gothic protagonists? It will reference and investigate Faustus, Shakespeare’s plays (e.g. Macbeth, Othello, Hamlet), Carter’s The Bloody Chamber, Frankenstein, the recent Batman trilogy and the Underworld films.
